The
South African National NGO Coalition
(SANGOCO) North West is a representative structure that was established
in the year 1995. The role
of the coalition is to coordinate, facilitate, support and promote the
work of its member organizations to maximise their development impact
and contribute to the development agenda of the North West Province.
SANGOCO's
vision
is of a democratic society where poverty and inequality have been
eradicated, and where ordinary men and women are able to participate in
all decision making processes that have an impact on their lives.
SANGOCO's
mission
is to promote civil society by uniting and strengthening the NGO sector
to enable it to influence development policy and advocate for programmes
that meet the needs of the poor in the best possible way, at the least
possible cost.
Our
strategic objectives are:
- The establishment of a strong and
vibrant civil society that is well suited to serving the interests of
the poor.

To
influence development policies in the country and ensure that government
programmes and policies effectively serve the needs and interests of the
poor.
The
Provincial Executive Committee (PEC)
is responsible for determining the overall mission,
strategic direction and objectives of SANGOCO North West. The core
structure of the PEC consists of four members with additional members
representing the regions.
SANGOCO North West has
four regions and each region is represented by a Regional Executive
Committee
(REC). The Chairpersons of the regions serve on the PEC.
